The Boston University Marine Program (BUMP) was founded in 1969 and has maintained a focus primarily on the field of marine biology. The College of Charleston offers one of the most wide-ranging master’s degree programs in marine biology. While the program may not offer a lot in the way of specialization, it is all-encompassing, and emphasizes a large variety of topics including cell biology, physiology, population biology, ecology, toxicology, and marine genomics. The school also provides fellowships and teaching assistant positions to help support graduate students.
